Higher AQP1 expression in primary MM cells correlates with increased proliferation rates. Primary MM cells were seeded at 1.6 × 104 cells/well and were allowed to grow for 24 h. Cell proliferation was measured by MTS assay, n = 14. Curve fit determined a quadratic relationship. Analysed by Pearson's correlation, R 2 = 0.485; P = 0.026.
