Increased cerebro-cerebellar functional connectivity in somatomotor and default mode networks in schizophrenia. The region that is hyperconnected with the somatomotor A network in SZ is in the posterior cerebellum and strongly resembles the cerebellar map of default mode network B. The region that is hyperconnected with the default mode A network in SZ is in the anterior cerebellum and corresponds topographically to somatomotor areas of the cerebellum. Together, these findings suggest that the somatomotor and default mode networks might be abnormally linked with one another in SZ. These images were generated using a p < 0.01 voxel threshold, corrected for multiple comparisons using a p < 0.05 cluster threshold. The boxes associated with each network are highlighted to match the color coding of the networks in Figure 1.
