During dextrose infusion, plasma concentrations of glucose and glucagonlike peptide 1 (GLP1) were greater in patients with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) than normal glucose tolerance (NGT). During lipid infusion, plasma concentration of peptide YY (PYY) but not cholecystokinin (CCK) was greater in patients with IGT than those with NGT. Error bars indicate SEM for all hormones.
