PF-4var/CXCL4L1 upregulates the level of retinal occludin and VE-cadherin in diabetic rat retinas. Western blot analysis of occludin and VE-cadherin level in normal and diabetic rat eyes that received intravitreal injection of PBS or PF-4var/CXCL4L1. Equal loading in each lane was confirmed via detection of β-actin. Quantitation of the signals was done by densitometric analysis and results were normalized to β-actin content, followed by normalization to values of normal eyes. Results (mean ± SD) for seven or eight rats in each group are shown.
