HTM cells were pretreated with 10 μM Y-27632 or 10 μM SB203580 for 30 min, and then stimulated with 2.5 ng/ml TGF-β2 for 24 h. Relative signals from a luciferase reporter gene fused with 12 repeats of the Smad-complex binding element (CAGA) were compared among samples. Signals from a plasmid containing Renilla luciferase were used as an internal control. Data are shown as means ± SE, n = 9. *P < 0.05 and **P < 0.01 calculated using the Tukey—Kramer HSD test.
