Exercise training increases SIRT3 and MnSOD protein in mouse skeletal muscle in an AMPK α2-dependent manner. (A) SIRT3 protein, (B) SIRT3 mRNA (n = 11–14), (C) MnSOD protein, (D) MnSOD mRNA (n = 11–14), (E) SIRT1 protein, and (F) Catalase protein levels were measured in quadriceps muscle of control or exercised trained female WT and AMPK α2 KD mice (n = 13–15 for protein measurements). Quadriceps muscles were obtained the day after the final bout of exercise. Values are mean ± SEM.
