The influence of the interaction between soil temperature 9–11 cm below the surface and water table depth on CH4 flux. Points are mapped onto a colour scale to show the water table depth for each measurement. Regression lines show conditional influence of soil temperature on CH4 flux at the mean water table height (0.0 cm above the surface) and at 1 standard deviation above and below the mean (10.2 and −10.2 cm respectively) determined using the methods of Aiken and West (1991).
