Activation of the human P2Y2 (left panel), and P2Y4 (right panel) receptors by UTP (1) and its base-modified uracil nucleotide analogues having 5-methyl (14), 2-thio (15), and 4-thio (16) substitution. PLC activity was measured as described in Section 3.2 in 1321N1 human astrocytoma cells stably expressing the human P2Y receptors. The data are the means of triplicate determinations and are representative of results obtained in at least three separate experiments with each analog.
