Table 3.

Summary of coverage and opacity measures for A/J otoconia. Measures for each ear independently as well as means for both ears are represented. Data include all end organs given as mean +/− SD (n), where n= number of end organs sampled. All ages, 1 to 19 months. Limits for opacity are minimum = 0 and maximum = 255. Mean opacity for the 7 normal C57 mice of the present study was: 139.2 +/− 6.8 (7). Note that values are slightly different here than those represented in the text. Those in the text reflect means and variance calculated across animals rather than individual end organs.
