The catalytic efficiency (k_cat/K_M in units of M⁻¹⋅s⁻¹) for both FLS and BAL for both the benzoin and formose reaction obtained from linear fits to substrate vs. velocity profiles, as described in Materials and Methods. All fits had at least four independently measured rates with an R² > 0.9 and are shown in SI Appendix, Fig. S1. n.d.a., no detectable activity.
