Shapes of detached vesicles obtained for the actin-driven (Left) and BAR-driven (Right) shape evolutions. The scission was assumed to occur at the site where the in-plane stress in the vesicle reaches the rupture stress. Both the vesicles exhibit a nonspherical shape, with the actin-driven vesicle having a more tear-dropped geometry. In addition, the size of the actin-driven vesicle is smaller compared with that of the BAR-driven vesicle. These findings are consistent with the observations of Kukulski et al. (18) in BAR mutant and wild-type yeast cells.
