GAPDH-normalized chymase 1, chymase 2, chymase 4, and chymase 5 mRNA levels in aortae from vehicle- or captopril-treated MC+/+ and Kitw/Kitw-v mice. Three-week-old MC+/+ and Kitw/Kitw-v mice were given vehicle (controls) (A) or captopril (50 mg/kg/d) (B) in drinking water for 4 weeks. Thus, all measurements are from aortae of 7-week-old mice. Values are mean ± SEM, and n = 7 in each group. Comparisons between MC+/+ and Kitw/Kitw-v mouse groups were made using the unpaired Student’s t test; *P < 0.01, **P < 0.001. In all cases, differences in transcript ratios between vehicle- and captopril-treated groups were not significant.
