Analysis of alterations in epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) marker and hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) gene expression in keloid keratinocytes. Keloid keratinocytes were cultured under normoxic (21% O2) and hypoxic conditions (1% O2) for different periods of time (12, 24 and 36 h). The relative mRNA expression of (a) vimentin, (b) fibronectin, (c) E-cadherin, (d) zonula occludens-1 (ZO-1) and (e) HIF-1α in keloid keratinocytes is indicated. *P<0.05 vs. keratinocytes under normoxic conditions (21% O2).
