History of exposure to a traumatic event that meets specific stipulations

Intrusion (re-experiencing)

Duration of symptoms for more than 1 month

Significant symptom-related distress or functional impairment (i.e. social, occupational)

Disturbance not due to medication, substance use, or other illness.
