mir-21 promoted osteogenesis of rBMSCs in vitro. (a) rBMSCs were treated with mir-21 in osteogenic induction medium for 14 days. Mineralized nodules were stained by Alizarin Red S. (b) Alizarin red S concentrations were quantified by absorbance measurement at 550 nM. (c-d) rBMSCs were treated with mir-21 in osteogenic induction medium for 3 (c) and 7 days (d). Osteogenesis-related gene expressions were detected by q-PCR. (e) mir-21-5p expression level was detected 3 days after osteogenic induction. (f) SOX-2, the potential target of mir-21, was also detected 3 days after osteogenic induction. β-actin was used as internal control. The experiments were repeated three times. * P < 0.05, compared with control.
