Binge METH exposure resulted in similar decreases in vesicular DA content and cytosolic VMAT2 immunoreactivity 1 h following binge exposure. Rats were treated as described in Figure 4. Prior METH self-administration did not alter reductions in cytosolic vesicular DA content (Panel A) or membrane-associated vesicular DA content (Panel B) following the binge exposure to METH. Similar reductions in cytosolic VMAT2 immunoreactivity were observed between the METH/METH and Saline/METH group (Panel C).
