Endurance exercise improves metabolic outcomes in hyperphagic, obese rats. Body weight (A), fat pad mass (B, sum of omental, retroperitoneal, and epididymal pad), and % of body fat (C) were determined at the end of the study. Weekly food intakes (D) were averaged across the period of the intervention (age 20–32 weeks). Levels of fasting blood glucose (E), insulin (F) and triacylglycerol, TAG (G) were determined at the end of the study. Values are means ± SEM (n = 6–8 rats/group).
