COS-7 cells transiently transfected with empty vector (pcDNA3) or SR-BI were incubated with [¹²⁵I]-labeled native HDL (circles) or acrolein-modified HDL (triangles) (10 μg/mL) in the presence of increasing concentrations of unlabeled native- or acrolein-modified HDL for 1.5 h at 37°C. Values represent the mean ± SEM of three independent experiments, each performed in triplicate. Binding of radiolabeled ligand was quantified and expressed as a percent of control in the absence of competitor, following subtraction of empty vector values. *p<0.05, **p<0.01
