History of offers affects discounting. Average log-transformed discount rate parameters k for Condition 1/Delay Vary (delayed rewards were more variable than immediate rewards), Condition 2/Immediate Vary (immediate rewards were more variable than delayed rewards) and Condition 3/All Vary (both immediate and delayed rewards were equally unpredictable). Higher k values indicate more impulsivity; lower k values signify more patience. Individuals were significantly more impulsive in the Delay Vary condition than in the Immediate Vary and All Vary conditions. Error bars represent SEM.
