CP 13C NMR spectra of hydrated untreated (A1 and B1) and hydrated glucose-treated (A2 and B2) porcine aortic elastin samples. The peaks between 60 and 80 ppm in the glucose-treated samples arise from the glucose solution. Spectra correspond to the aliphatic region (B1 and B2) and the carbonyl region (A1 and A2). Differences are observed in the resolution of the various peaks between the samples as discussed in the text. Note the different vertical scales.
