Tra2β knockdown increases susceptibility to anticancer drugs. (a) Whole-cell lysates were prepared from A549 cells that had been treated with 10 nM control or Tra2β siRNA for 48 h. The levels of unprocessed or cleaved caspase 3 and PARP were measured by western blotting. β-actin was used as a loading control. (b and c) A549 cells were treated with control (ctrl) or Tra2β siRNA for 36 h, and then these cells were exposed to the indicated concentrations of 5-fluorouracil (FU) or adriamycin (ADR) for 24 h. Subsequently, growing cells were harvested and counted. The values shown are the mean±S.D. (n=3). *Significantly different by ANOVA and the Bonferroni test (P<0.05)
