The parameter α is the time scale (an hour) and D is the diameter of an IMC (7μm). We can consider the α and D scaling the damping viscosity coefficient, μ, then the parameters in the table represent a ratio of force exerted on the IMC by movement through the heterogeneous medium and the force exerted by the adhesion, repulsion, migration and stochastic forces.
