A 65-year-old patient suffering from stage IIIB NSCLC of the right lung (segment 5). Maximum intensity projection (MIP) images of 18F-FDG PET/CT (left) and 18F-FMISO PET/CT (right). 18F-FDG PET/CT demonstrates the primary tumor as well as multiple hypermetabolic 18F-FDG avid foci indicative of metastatic involvement of the supraclavicular lymph nodes, lymph nodes of the cervix, mediastinum and hilar region, as well as vertebrae of the thoracic spine and the scapula. On the other hand, 18F-FMISO demonstrates the tumor with faint uptake and fails to reveal any metastases.
