Fungal-type vacuole membrane is vacuole membrane, it is the organelle membrane which belongs to cellular component. Being the largest organelles in cells of eukaryotic microorganisms, vacuoles are known to function in intracellular ion homeostasis, storage of metabolites, and degradation of proteins. Vacuoles are important for fungal responses upon berberine chloride treatment. zupT (zinc transporter), the major gene related to fungal type vacuole membrane, is up-regulated upon berberine chloride treatment. Our results suggested that up-regulation of zinc transporter zupT might be related to the compensatory ability of M. canis upon berberine treatment.
