The integration of redox events in apoplast with the γ-glutamyl cycle. Unfavorable environmental conditions result in formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) including hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), which may intracellularly activate anti-oxidative and defense responses leading to plant acclimation.
