Introduction of miR-221 and miR-222 results in increase in γH2AX-positve cells in lung cancer cell lines. miR-221 and miR-222 introductions increased the number of H3255 and H1299 cells positive for nuclear γH2AX staining cells. This result suggests that unrepaired DSBs increased upon introduction of miR-221 and miR-222 in these cells. γH2AX positive cells (% of control) are averages of three or four independent experiments. *indicates P < 0.05 (Mann–Whitney U test).
