Splenocytes were left untreated (no Ab) or incubated with individual antibodies against CD14, CD11b, or CD11c prior to infecting with either WT or the Δail/pla/psaA mutant (“Δ3”) expressing YopM-Bla or Gst-Bla (not shown). Infections were performed in RPMI containing FBS, cytochalasin D, and NMS. Cells were stained with CCF2-AM and antibodies, and then analyzed by flow cytometry. A) The targeting efficiency for each cell type infected with WT is shown. B) The targeting efficiency for each cell type infected with the Δail/pla/psaA mutant is shown.
