Transcriptional activity of the ANGPT-1 regulatory region in KSHV-infected PEL cells. PEL cells, KSHV-negative BJAB cells, and BAC36/BJAB cells were transfected with a luciferase reporter plasmid that contained bp −898 to +490 of ANGPT-1, and a luciferase reporter plasmid that contained bp +1 to +490 was used as a control. Forty-eight hours after transfection, the lysate was prepared and luciferase activity was measured as described in Materials and Methods. Data are shown as fold activity differences from the activity of the basal reporter; the activity of a +1 construct was set at 1-fold.
