Protein expression of EC-derived- and NC-derived-Vif genes. To confirm Vif protein expression, Western blot analysis was performed on a randomly selected panel of 11 EC and 10 NC Vif proteins, using cellular lysates of 293T cells cotransfected with 200 ng of the RRE-carrying FLAG-tagged expression plasmids of patient-derived vif and pCA-Rev. These, together with the NL4-3 vif gene and a subtype C vif gene used as positive controls and Vif(-) as a negative control, are shown.
