Bacterial lawns were grown on minimal medium in the presence of filter discs that were soaked with d-Tyr (25 μg). The absence of growth near the filter disc was measured after incubation at 37°C for 24 h. The radius of zone of growth inhibition indicates the size of the clear zone measured from the edge of the filter disc in mm. Values are reported as averages ± standard errors.
Indicates which gene encoding tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase is present in the cell.
