Plants were grown for 21 days in Fe-sufficient (+Fe) or Fe-deficient (-Fe) nutrient solutions with the non-stressed (Ct) or the flooding treatment (S).

For a comparison of the means, an ANOVA followed by the Fisher´s least significant differences (LSD) test, calculated at the 95% confidence level, was performed. Different letters in the same row indicate significant differences between the different genotypes and treatments. Levels of significance were represented by P < 0.05 (*), P < 0.01 (**), P < 0.001 (***) and ns (non-significant).
