Two client apo-flavoproteins: nuclear lysine specific demethylase 1 (LSD1) and mitochondrial dimethylglycine dehydrogenase (Me₂GlyDH). LSD1 and Me₂GlyDH are both FAD containing enzyme which carry out similar reactions of oxidative demethylation, assisted by tetrahydrofolate (H₄Folate) used to form 5,10-methylene-tetrahydrofolate (5,10-CH₂H₄Folate).
