(A) BMMs were seeded on bone discs and cultured to form OCs in the presence or absence of DSF (50 nM, 100 nM and 200 nM). (B) BMMs were cultured to OCs on bone discs and then treated with DSF (50 nM, 100 nM and 200 nM) for 48 hours. Bone discs were fixed and assessed for bone resorption by toluidine blue staining (resorption pits shown by yellow arrow heads). The total resorbed area on each bone disc was quantified as a percentage of the total bone disc area (mean ± SD; **: P<0.01, ***: P<0.001, ns: not significant against vehicle).
