Immunofluorescent detection of GFAP. (A) Retinal cryosections from Mthfr^+/+ and Mthfr^+/− mice at 24 weeks were subjected to immunofluorescence analysis using anti-GFAP followed by incubation with Alexa Fluor 555 (red-labeled secondary antibody), showing marked increase in GFAP levels in astrocytes and Müller cells (radial labeling) in the Mthfr^+/− retina compared to Mthfr^+/+, in which GFAP expression was limited to astrocytes.
