Effect of insulin resistance on insulin-stimulated 2-deoxyglucose uptake, protein synthesis, and inhibition of lipolysis in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. 3T3-L1 adipocytes treated with CI (A, D, G, and J), DEX (B, E, H, and K), or TNFα (C, F, I, and L) were washed, serum-starved for 2 h, and then assessed for insulin-stimulated [3H]2-deoxyglucose (3H-DG) uptake (A–C), [3H]leucine incorporation for protein synthesis (D–F), and inhibition of isoproterenol-mediated glycerol release for lipolysis (G–I), and cell lysates were immunoblotted with indicated antibodies (J–L).
