Purification of recombinant HP-NAP from E. coli by DEAE Sephadex negative mode batch chromatography. The soluble fraction from the whole cell lysate of E. coli BL21(DE3) expressing HP-NAP was subjected to DEAE Sephadex anion-exchange chromatography as described in Methods. The fractions of wash and elution ranged from 1 to 23 and 24 to 33, respectively. The unbound fraction (U), selected wash fractions, and selected elution fractions were analyzed by SDS-PAGE (A) and immunoblotting (B). Molecular weights (M) in kDa are indicated on the left of the stained gel and the blot. Data were representative of at least two independent experiments.
