Adhesion of bacteria on IPEC-J2 cells. Cells grown on 24-well tissue culture plates were treated with bacterial cells of LGG, Lactobacillus johnsonii, and Lactobacillus reuteri (multiplicity of infection, MOI 100) or ETEC (MOI 10) alone, or with coincubations of ETEC (MOI 10) and Lactobacillus spp. (MOI 100) or their equivalent supernatants for 2 h. (A) Adhesion of LGG, L. johnsonii, and L. reuteri. (B) Reduction in ETEC adhesion by Lactobacillus spp. and their equivalent supernatants sLGG, sL. johnsonii, and sLreuteri.
