Changes in the middle ear with eustachian tube (ET) occlusion. Figure demonstrates the changes in the middle ear mucosa with occlusion of the ET. Cilia are present in the mucosa of the middle ear mucosa (arrows) with an inflammatory exudate (top left corner).
