Intracellular pyruvate (A), glycerol (B), and trehalose (C) levels in the mycelia of the NPP mutants and wild-type strain during growth on glucose as a sole carbon source. Conidia were incubated in minimal medium plus CA for 24 hr. Subsequently, the mycelia were transferred to minimal medium plus 1% glucose for 24 hr. The average concentrations were determined from three independent experiments (± standard deviation). The concentrations of glycerol, trehalose, and pyruvate are presented in μmol.mg−1.
