A stratified epithelium is formed 7 days after wounding in NDST^Δ/ΔCEpi mice. Debridement wounds were performed on P55 NDST^f/f and NDST^Δ/ΔCEpi mice induced at P21 and analyzed after 7 days. NDST^Δ/ΔCEpi mice presented compromised wound healing and thinner corneas 7 days after wounding when compared to NDST^f/f; however, it was not as severe as that observed for EXT^Δ/ΔCEpi mice. Corneas were processed for paraffin sectioning and analyzed by hematoxylin and eosin staining. Scale bar: 20 μm.
