Magnified regions of retinas are indicated by the white box. RGC axons course toward the center of the retina to exit the eye through the optic nerve. Aged BAC hOPTNE50K retinas exhibited fewer RGCs with smaller somas and thinner axons than WT controls. Scale bar, 500 m, 100 m (high magnification).
