Terence gained valuable early experience in eye surgery in Jordan, providing care to the Arab populations of the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem. He returned to the United Kingdom in 1966, and he was appointed consultant ophthalmologist at Singleton Hospital, Swansea, and Neath General Hospital, South Wales, in 1979. He helped introduce argon laser treatment for diabetic retinopathy, micro eye surgery with lens implantation, and ultrasonic investigation of eye disease. He retired in 1988 following a heart attack. During retirement he studied for a law degree, and took up learning the church organ. He leaves a wife, Valerie Jane, and three sons.
