TGF-β neutralization increases CCN2(IV)-induced renal inflammatory response. The inflammatory cell infiltration was characterized in paraffin-embedded renal sections by immunohistochemistry with anti-F4/80 (specific for monocyte/macrophage), anti-CD3 (T lymphocyte marker), and anti-CD4 (effector lymphocyte T marker) antibodies. (a) shows the immunohistochemistry quantification expressed as mean ± SEM (n = 10 animals per group) of fold-change as compared to controls. Mean ± SEM. P < 0.05 versus control. # P < 0.05 versus CCN2(IV)-IgG. (b) shows a representative animal from each group (200x magnification). Arrows indicate infiltrating cells in detail (400x magnification).
