(A–C) Tibialis anterior muscle samples were harvested from GFP-LC3 transgenic mice at different time points after anesthesia (A: 0 min, B: 120 min, C: 300 min), snap frozen, cryosectioned, fixed, and observed under fluorescent microscope. Images were captured with exactly the same exposure and gain condition for all of the samples. The numbers of LC3-GFP dots were increased in a time-dependent manner. White bar represent 50µm. (D) GFP-LC3 dot numbers were counted and expressed as mean +/− S.E. per high power field (HPF) in the bar graph. *p<0.05, **p<0.01 by ANOVA with Dunnett’s post-hoc test (n=5).Min = minutes after induction of anesthesia.
