(A) Proteins extracted from elytra dissected from pharate adults (day 5 pupae) were analyzed by 15% SDS-PAGE. Arrow indicates TcCP30, the third most abundant protein, with an apparent molecular mass of 30 kDa. The other two abundant RR-2 cuticular proteins, TcCPR27 and TcCPR18, are also indicated21. (B) Nucleotide sequence of a full-length cDNA clone and the deduced amino acid sequence of TcCP30 encoded by this cDNA. The underline indicates predicted signal peptide. The peptide sequence used for TcCP30 antibody generation is highlighted in gray. The putative polyadenylation signal (AATAAA) is indicated in bold.
