Walkway with adjustable slope. Infants began in either a prone or upright position on the flat starting platform. The middle section of the walkway adjusted in 2° increments from 0° to 90°. An experimenter followed alongside infants to ensure their safety. During the test phase, mothers sat on a raised platform adjacent to the flat landing platform.
