Recommended Dietary Intake is age and gender based, and ranges from 400 to 900 µg RAE/day (10).

2

CF recommendations are age-based, and for children 4 to 8 years of age are from 5,000 to10,000 IU/day, and children and adults greater than 8 years of age are 10,000 IU day (1,500 to 3,000 RAE/day) (11,12). The conversion of IU to RAE is: 1 IU retinol= 0.3 µg RAE. 1 µg RAE= 1 ug retinol.
