A, growth of strains carrying the VE, VEM, and VEMA derivatives of ACP-α2Ll. B, growth of strains carrying the VQ and FE derivatives of ACP-α2Ll. The strains were grown in the presence of IPTG to induce expression of the ACP genes in the presence or absence of Sfp as shown above the plates. The plates were incubated for 20 h at 37 °C. Further incubation of the FE plate (bottom right corner) for an additional 16 h showed no growth.
