The tree was done using 73 16S rDNA sequences, from 57 Bacillus iolates and 16 reference strains (highlighted with an asterisk). The NJ tree was constructed from each data set using the maximum composite likelihood model in MEGA 6.0. The optimal tree with the sum of branch length = 0.57224699 is shown. The tree is drawn to scale, with branch lengths in the same units as those of the evolutionary distances, which were computed using the Poisson correction method, to infer the phylogenetic tree. Bacillus were grouped in 8 different species (B. subtilis, B. amyloliquefaciens, B. mojavensis, B. licheniformis, B. megaterium, B. pumilus, B. cereus and B. thuringiensis), indicated by means square braquets.
