Analysis of changes in lung, kidney, and liver mRNA expression in experimental acute lung injury-induced sepsis (ALI-sepsis). Total RNA from ALI-sepsis mouse lungs, kidneys, and livers was used in reverse transcription reactions with oligo-dT primers. cDNA was used in real-time polymerase chain reaction with gene-specific primers (Additional file 1: Table S1). mRNA level of a given gene in each sample was normalized to β-actin transcript.
